When minds and Footz come together

Yes feet are mostly cheerful extremity's, very sociable. That's why they have so many different types of shoes to wear.

Their favourite type of shoe, especially when young is the dancing shoe. From tap to disco they hit the dance floor, lay down their handbag to mark their territory and boogie.

Lot's of dancing partners come and go, some stay too long others on reflection not long enough, most are passing boogie woogie ships in the night, just friends that gently touch the shoe’s surface with a cheerful wink and smile, though the odd leer isn’t unknown.

It is through the medium of dance that the feet are connected to the memory sector of the mind, the mind is a strange distant land to the feet, and they know that somewhere up there is a control tower that coordinates the movement of the bod they're attached too.

But this causes friction at times, as the feet have an independent nature and like to think they can wonder off, at will, in any direction they choose.

Interference from the control tower with messages like –

'we'd like to wonder down that dodgy alley ... but' or

'No, we need to get home.' And

'THAT'S FINAL!' is usually the last message on the subject.

This is why dance is important to the feet, it forces the whole bod, mind included to work together as one, a whole entity of ABBASQUE movement, a dancing queen if you like.

But it is, as I’ve said, in the memories, the bod will be waiting in a post office queue or a Sainsbury’s and suddenly a tune will pop into the mind from some swanky mid 80’s dance floor, and the foots cheer-up and start to boogie, a slight sway of hip, a swish bend of the knee. This causes much mirth to onlookers and much embarrassment to off-spring.

The mind races back to dance floors and scuff marks ‘wander what that other pair of shoes are doing now’ and ‘good that place, shame it’s not there anymore.’ Or ‘I really need to rake out these old shoes. And ask ourselves how we’re doing.’ Are thoughts that engage the mind and foots in an all too uncommon unison.

It warms the foots a lot that they are in a family of foots that like a good boogie, bit disco or old time jazz or big band style … it serves as very important piece of their identity, history and future.

So the dancing foots squeal at the memories of tap, of their swan like days of ballet and the haze of teen rebellion of dressing up and fade to grey.

They chuckle and smile in fine chuff, what a life eh.
